Kindness in Action: Ferguson Subaru’s Love Promise to Help Our Community

Homelessness is a heartbreaking reality faced by millions of people across the country, including right here in our Tulsa community. For those experiencing homelessness, even the basics—like a warm meal—can seem out of reach. At Ferguson Subaru, we believe in the Subaru Love Promise commitment to make a positive difference in the lives of others, and through the Subaru Loves to Help pillar, we are dedicated to supporting those in urgent need. While this initiative traditionally runs during February, we know that showing kindness and compassion isn’t confined to a single month. It’s a year-round effort. This holiday season, we decided to take action to support those facing hunger and homelessness in our community. Our team gathered at the dealership with one simple goal: to make a difference. We purchased a cart full of groceries and got to work assembling sandwiches. Together, we turned our dealership into a hub of giving, fueled by love and care for our community. Once the sandwiches were made, we headed downtown to the inner city of Tulsa, where we personally handed them out to individuals experiencing homelessness. The experience was humbling and heartwarming. Each sandwich represented more than just a meal—it was a message of hope, a reminder that someone cares, and an opportunity to connect with people who are often overlooked. By taking the time to reach out and offer a small gesture of kindness, we were reminded of the power of community and the importance of coming together to lift one another up. At Ferguson Subaru, we are proud to live out the Subaru Loves to Help promise, not just during February, but every day of the year. Helping those in need is at the core of who we are and what we believe in. This holiday season, we hope our story inspires others to lend a helping hand and make a difference in their own communities. Together, we can create a brighter future—one small act of love at a time.

A Lifeline for Pets in Need: Ferguson Subaru’s Love Promise in Action

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the Humane Society of Tulsa was called upon to aid the families and pets devastated by the storm’s relentless force. With flooding causing widespread damage in western North Carolina, we knew the need was urgent. Families lost their homes, and pets, often overlooked in the chaos, were also in desperate need of safety and care. We deployed our Emergency Response Trailer to Asheville, North Carolina to provide temporary housing for displaced pets, but the scale of the disaster caused a need for a significant about of supplies. That’s when Ferguson Subaru stepped in with unwavering support. Ferguson Subaru, a long-time partner of the Humane Society of Tulsa, didn’t hesitate when they learned of the situation. True to their Subaru Love Promise commitment, they quickly organized a disaster relief drive, gathering essential supplies to support our rescue and sheltering efforts. The outpouring of donations was nothing short of incredible. From pet food, leashes, and blankets to cleaning supplies —everything we needed to ensure the animals were safe, comfortable, and cared for during such a traumatic time. The partnership between Ferguson Subaru and the Humane Society of Tulsa has always been rooted in compassion and a shared love for animals. Subaru’s Subaru Loves Pets pillar resonates deeply with our mission, and in times of crisis, that promise becomes tangible. The generous contributions from Ferguson Subaru allowed us to focus on what we do best—caring for and protecting animals in need.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Blanket Delivery

On Tuesday, June 18th, Ferguson Subaru and the LLS Red River Chapter had the pleasure of delivering 80 blankets to Oklahoma Cancer Center Specialists and Research Center as part of the Subaru Loves To Care program. These comforting gifts were accompanied by personalized messages of hope written by the customers and staff at Ferguson Subaru. This incredible act of generosity was warmly received by the Oklahoma Cancer Center Specialists and Research Center staff who were thrilled to distribute these gifts to their patients. Many thanks to everyone at Ferguson Subaru and Oklahoma Cancer Center Specialists and Research Center, not only for a memorable day, but for supporting LLS's mission to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families!

Coral reef and shark education in Oklahoma supported by Ferguson Subaru - OKAQ S.T.E.M. Night

We are deeply grateful to Ferguson Subaru for their incredible partnership with the Oklahoma Aquarium. Their support has allowed us to make a significant impact in the field of STEM education, and we are honored to share our Subaru Love Promise Story with them and the wider community. The Oklahoma Aquarium hosts STEM Night at 6 and 7 P.M. on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. This previous year, Subaru of America became the presenting sponsor of STEM Night for a generous $30,000! The partnership has allowed us to expand STEM Night, adding an additional session each night. Informal STEM and, specifically, science learning is the most crucial element in solidifying the lessons taught in the formal classroom. The combination of formal and informal science education is the backbone of teaching our children to love STEM and instilling a life-long interest in STEM fields. We are losing STEM professionals, so we must continue to provide fun and engaging ways to teach science. As the only ocean in Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Aquarium is uniquely positioned to provide education focusing on issues impacting our oceans, such as ocean plastics. 71% of our planet is covered in water, so we like to say that you must think blue to go green! Utilizing the support from Ferguson Subaru, our education team provides hands-on interactive lessons on topics ranging from coral reefs to sharks and deep-sea animals. The participants have even made "hagfish slime!" Subaru of America's Subaru Loves Learning program helps us provide informal science experiences to more families, furthering our mission to educate and inspire conservation of our aquatic world through interactive discovery. Thank you, Ferguson Subaru!

Humane Society of Tulsa's Dog Day Out Program

In October of 2023, The Humane Society of Tulsa participated in a conference that pitched the idea of a canine field trip program. Dog Day Out programs allow members of the public to take shelter dogs on a day-long adventure. A Dog Day Out may entail hiking, visiting a lake, or even hosting a sleepover. These excursions aid shelter dogs in coping with kennel stress, expending excess energy, and increasing their visibility to prospective adopters. Statistics shared by industry professionals proved that Dog Day Out programs increase the likelihood of adoption by up to fourteen times! The Humane Society of Tulsa’s team was sold on the amazing benefits of this program. Our team immediately started crafting a plan to launch a Dog Day Out program in Tulsa! We instantly thought of Ferguson Subaru as the perfect fit to be the program’s title sponsor. Ferguson Subaru graciously said yes! Ferguson Subaru agreed to be the title sponsor for the Humane Society of Tulsa’s 2024 Dog Day Out Program. The $5,000 sponsorship fee Ferguson Subaru paid to Humane Society of Tulsa helped launch the inaugural program. So far, the program has been an enormous success! In this first year, as of May 2024, over twenty dogs have been adopted directly from the Dog Day Out program! The most incredible part; however, is that Ferguson Subaru has gone way beyond simply being a paying sponsor. They have taken the program to heart and have actually committed to taking a dog on a day-long field trip every Friday, this year! In fact, three Ferguson Subaru employees have actually adopted the puppy that spent the day with the retailer! Our organization it beyond grateful for Ferguson Subaru’s support and their willingness to engage in this program. Subaru and their retailers truly do love pets! Thank you, Ferguson Subaru!

Shoe and Coat Donation to Kendall-Whittier Elementary for Subaru Loves To Help

Ferguson Subaru has been a supporter of our children through the Subaru Loves Learning initiative and this year they went above and beyond by stepping in to help our children in need during the Subaru Loves to Help initiative! The Ferguson Subaru team came to Kendall-Whittier with so much love and enthusiasm to share coats and shoes with our students. We had over 120 students receive new coats and new shoes, and our students were so excited and grateful for the items that they received! The Ferguson Subaru team members came in and set up so quickly and efficiently which made the process of outfitting students so easy. They were great at organizing and carrying out the event without a problem and were so great at cleaning up and putting our extra shoes and coats on the stage area to be put away later. With the Ferguson Subaru teams help in the past we had numerous volunteers excited to participate in this initiative. They graciously helped pack bags for shoes and write names in coats which supported Ferguson’s team. To make the experience special each member helped an individual student in picking out the appropriate sizes with so much love and care. We had students whose old shoes were visibly too small, and who immediately began wearing their new shoes. Our students’ faces just lit up as they put on their new coats and picked out their new shoes. Our volunteer parents were so kind and thankful for this wonderful program that helped support our students so much. I felt that it was a very successful program not only for the wonderful gifts of coats and shoes but for the willingness and support of the Ferguson Subaru team. What a success!! We all thank Subaru for giving our school and our first graders this tremendous opportunity. Cold weather came back in, and our first graders wore their coats with so much pride. What amazing support Ferguson Subaru gave us! With deepest gratitude, Katie Russell, Counselor Curtis Swinford, Assistant Principal Dr. Ronda Kesler, Principal

National Random Acts of Kindness Day

Ferguson Subaru takes our Love Promise Pledge to heart. We are committed to making a positive impact in our community. With this commitment in mind, we created the Ferguson Random Act of Kindness initiative. Through the Ferguson Random Act of Kindness initiative, we supply members of our team with $50 or more and send them out into our community. These team members then approach random, unsuspecting people within the community and offer them the money, no strings attached! National Random Acts of Kindness Day took place on Friday, February 17th. This year Ferguson Subaru wanted to do something BIG for the 2023 National Random Acts of Kindness Day. Tying into our current initiative our team went out into the community and handed out over $4,000 during National Random Acts of Kindness Day! Our company has a vision of being more than a car dealer and we are committed to building a better community.

The perfect match: Ralph and Magnus

Ralph faced the challenging loss of his intelligent and beautiful German Shepherd service dog, Astrid. Uncertain about when the appropriate time would come to welcome another service dog into his life, everything took a surprising turn when Ralph visited our Subaru Service Department. Little did Ralph know, Miranda, a dedicated member of our Subaru service team, had discovered a stray German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix near her home. Following several days of unsuccessful attempts to locate the owner, Miranda decided to bring the puppy to work. Serendipitously, it turned out to be the same day as Ralph's scheduled service appointment. The encounter between Ralph and the homeless puppy was far more than a mere coincidence. The connection between Ralph and the puppy, now named Magnus, was immediately profound. Magnus now has a new owner and a new loving home! Connecting Ralph with Magnus demonstrates the Subaru Loves Pets commitment in action. Ferguson Subaru believes all pets deserve a loving home.

Ferguson Subaru Saves Christmas

We wanted to take a moment to recognize everyone at Ferguson Subaru. The staff has proven their commitment to pets and rescue numerous times over the years. From our first contact to now, Ferguson Subaru staff & customers have been very supportive and giving. We at Legacy of Hope Dog Rescue, depend on donations and fosters to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome the dogs in our care. Not only has Jeremy Bautista promoted fostering for and adopting from rescues, he himself has been a foster for dogs in need. Of all the locations, with our Angel Trees, Ferguson Subaru has collected by far the most dog food and toys for our dogs. Frankly, they are some of the only ones who donated specifically for our medical dogs and adult dogs. They even provided canned puppy food for our two momma dogs and their litters of 6 and 12 pups. These are the dogs who so often are overlooked. We at Legacy of Hope Dog Rescue are so thankful for the opportunity to work with Ferguson Subaru. We are so very grateful for everything Jeremy and his team have done for us. We could not help dogs in need without the support of so many kind and generous people.

Spreading Christmas Joy Through The Salvation Army Angel Tree Initiative

At Ferguson Subaru, the spirit of giving is at the heart of our corporate culture. This holiday season, our employees came together to embrace the true meaning of Christmas by hosting a Salvation Army Angel Tree in our office. The Angel Tree initiative, known for its commitment to providing gifts for children in need, became a beacon of hope and joy as our team rallied to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. As the festive Angel Tree adorned with heartfelt wishes and dreams of local children took center stage in our workplace, the response from our employees was nothing short of incredible. Many of our dedicated team members eagerly selected angels from the tree, each representing a child's unique holiday wish. One such employee was Josh Clarke. Josh's selected angel wrote that they really wanted an Xbox. Despite the high cost, Josh was set on making his angel's Christmas extra special. Josh was ecstatic to buy his angel a brand-new Xbox, along with gaming headset, as well. As we reflect on this remarkable Angel Tree experience, we are reminded that the holiday season is not just about exchanging gifts but about spreading love, kindness, and joy. Ferguson Subaru's commitment to making a positive impact on the community shines brightly, and our employees' participation in the Salvation Army Angel Tree initiative exemplifies the power of collective goodwill. We look forward to continuing our tradition of giving back and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us, embodying the true spirit of the season at Ferguson Subaru. The warmth and generosity that filled our office during this initiative were palpable, creating a sense of unity and purpose among colleagues. All the Angel Tree presents will go to The Salvation Army Tulsa Area Command for distribution.

Ferguson Subaru Steps Into Action - Surprise Vehicle

Bridgett had recently graduated from the Hope is Alive treatment program. While attending a Hope is Alive luncheon she meet Taylor from Ferguson Subaru. She shared her stories of her battles with drugs and alcohol with Taylor and identified how she has been sober for over a year! Bridgett also mentioned that she didn’t have a car and that she was doing the best she could without one. This is when Taylor and the team at Ferguson Subaru stepped into action. The team at Ferguson Subaru knew they had to help. Soon after they met, Taylor and his wife drove to the Hope Is Alive house Bridgett was living at and surprised her with a vehicle from Ferguson Subaru at no cost to her. He expressed how wonderful it felt to help someone who is doing everything in her power to walk the straight and narrow. Thanks to the team at Ferguson Subaru, she now has a little less to worry about day to day and Ferguson Subaru proved they are More Than A Car Dealer.

Ferguson Subaru Pet Adoption Center at Woofstock 2023

Ferguson Subaru's Pet Adoption Sponsorship helped us drive more new visitors to the pet adoption area of our established Woofstock event in Tulsa. We had a PAW-some time with you and the Oklahoma Animal Alliance at this year's event. And, thanks to your $8,700 sponsorship we were able to place over 100 animals with loving homes this year. OAA microchipped more than 150 pets & made 88 metal pet ID tags. We are so grateful for the support you provided with community messaging and for your onsite presence with your amazing Subaru display & booth. The yummy treats were also a big hit for our furry friends too! We look forward to your partnership at Woofstock 2024! Keep up the great work Ferguson Subaru! You are making a difference & we see you! Thank you! All my best, Lori Jones

Bringing more people to the joys of camping (while in the big city)

Every year, we hold an event called BaseCamp Camping and Music Festival at Turkey Mountain. Turkey Mountain is a 650 acre forest within the city limits of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The goal of the event is to introduce families that live in Tulsa to camping and encourage them to keep camping as a regular recreation activity. We make camping as easy as possible with our volunteer “sherpas” who help families who have never camped before setup their tents and get their campsites ready. We also provide bonfires, food trucks, and live music as entertainment to the event. Thanks to Ferguson Subaru's sponsorship, we were able to hold a wildly successful event this year that introduced dozens of families to camping. We love the fact that these families often show up with brand new tents (still in cellophane) and that they camp with us for the first time. We love the fact that Ferguson Subaru showcased some new Subaru vehicles at the event, and that some of their employees camped through the night, during the event. We hope that spirit of exploring the outdoors continues to grow with them and leaves lasting memories for their families. We are grateful for the Subaru Loves the Earth program appreciate that it helps us continue our mission of getting families outdoors.

Helping School Children In Need

Ferguson Subaru has partnered again for the second year with Park Lane Elementary School to donate school supplies and much needed equipment for classrooms! For the month of September, we hosted a school supply drive on our showroom. We started by purchasing $250 in supplies to get it started! By the end of September, we had four large boxes of much needed supplies donated by our customers and employees! Crayons, coloring books, pencils, paper, hand sanitizer, and tissues! The participation by our entire sales and finance staff was inspiring! On October 9th, we went to Park Lane Elementary School and met with one of their awesome special education teachers, Julia Love. These supplies meant so much to her! This donation meant that she did not have to spend her own money to fill this need! She said that not only will it fulfill her classroom needs, but would be able to bless several other teachers and their classrooms as well!

BOOtanical Fun in Tulsa

The Tulsa Botanic Garden has had a wonderful experience with Ferguson Subaru in Tulsa/Broken Arrow. Ferguson Subaru is the sponsor of Bootanical as part of our Autumn in the Botanic Garden. We have over 10,000 guests come to the Garden over the six weeks of the event. Sponsorships grow our general operating funds which go to help us maintain our day-to-day operations in the Garden. We depend on partners such as Ferguson Subaru to support the Garden so that we can continue to be a vital part of our community. We belong to the Museums for All program which helps SNAP and WIC recipients receive greatly reduced admission to the Garden. Foster parents and their children also received reduced admission. Sponsorships such as the Ferguson Subaru BOOtanical sponsorship help us to be able to offer these benefits to parents and children. We're hoping that this initial partnership will continue to grow. Our contact, Cody Teegerstrom has been wonderful to work with.

More than just a dealership!

Michael Altman got me into my first Subaru on September 18, 2018. Ten days later, he put my mom & dad into their first Subaru. Not only did we receive new vehicles, but we gained a new friend in Michael and the Ferguson team. Early summer 2022, I stopped in to chat with Michael & Jeremy Bautista about ordering my next Outback. Michael and I visited and caught up with one another. He asked about my school year. I told him it was a good year, but I was concerned about the next year. We discussed what my class will look like and some of the new challenges we would face in the new school year. A few days later I received a text from Michael asking me to send him a list of supplies needed for my classroom. He went on to explain that he, Jeremy, and others at Ferguson wanted to adopt my classroom and help supply the items needed. I emailed Michael my wish list, and on a sunny, hot day in August, I had several huge boxes delivered to my front porch. I was ecstatic and in awe. Thanks to Michael, Jeremy, and the others at Ferguson Subaru, my paraprofessionals and I started the 2022-2023 school year with four new rolling stools, a HEPA air filter, and new math manipulatives for our pre-k students. These are supplies I would definitely not be able to purchase myself, as a Special Education Teacher. I am so grateful to the team at Ferguson for not only taking care of me as a customer, but for taking care of a classroom within the community they operate in. Michael, Jeremy, and a few others came out to the classroom to see how their gifts would impact our school year. I can not think of a better way that Ferguson Subaru could show love to this teacher & her students. To top it off, in September 2022 Michael & Jeremy teamed up to get me into my second Outback and my mom chose an Ascent.

Ferguson Subaru Walks the Walk

The Tulsa SPCA is proud to partner with Ferguson Subaru for both our Underdog segment in local station channel 2, as well as thru Subaru Loves Pets month and a variety of other events. They are always professional, sincere, timely and supportive of all efforts. Our dealings are primarily with Michael Altman, Jeremy Bautista and Cody. I tell everyone I meet that Ferguson is the real deal when it comes to corporate partners and cause marketing. They not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.

Maya's Final Destination

Maya was returned four times to the Humane Society of Tulsa. After so many failed adoptions, our team was determined to place Maya in a forever home. Maya was featured on Underdog, a local news segment in Tulsa hosted by Jeremy at Ferguson Subaru. We talked about Maya's barriers for adoption, and broke them down one by one so they weren't so big anymore. Maya is Heart Worm positive, high energy and approaching her senior years. Thankfully, after Maya's Underdog debut, the Lancaster family came along. They weren't spooked by her Heart Worm diagnosis or her age. We knew in our hearts Maya had found her forever. Since her adoption, Maya's family has kept our team up to date on her treatment and send us photos of Maya all the time! She is thriving and has reached her final destination thanks to Ferguson Subaru!

Ferguson Subaru Blanket Delivery

LLS had the joy of partnering with Ferguson Subaru as part of the Subaru Loves to Care program and provide 80 blankets to patients at the Oklahoma Cancer Specialists & Research Institute. Ferguson Subaru was wonderful to work with and delivered the blankets with kindness and enthusiasm. The generosity displayed by the staff of Ferguson will positively impact the patients who receive the blankets, spreading hope. Thank you Ferguson Subaru for supporting the mission of LLS and for taking the lead to care for patients in your community.

I'm still here, thanks to Subaru!

Hello friends at Subaru! My name is Nicole Morgan. I am a wife, mother, daughter, aunt (they call me MimiCole!), a friend, physical therapist, mountain biker, mountain bike skills instructor, paddle boarder, adventure enthusiast, and a Subaru owner. I bought my first Subaru in 2016. A wonderful Outback. I am a home health physical therapist and spend many hours in my vehicle, driving between patients. I bought it because I had the opportunity to drive a friend’s Outback in a snowstorm and I have never felt so safe in a vehicle. I knew then that a Subaru Outback would be my next vehicle. I immediately had a hitch mount installed and it became my adventure-mobile. My Outback took me to destinations near and far: Utah, Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, you name it. I am a rolling Subaru commercial. Between work and play, I basically live in my car, and logged 20,000 miles in that Outback from June to December in the first year I owned it! When the opportunity arose in 2017, our mountain bike team asked our local dealer, Ferguson Subaru, to be our title sponsor. They happily agreed and we have been riding, educating, and advocating for off-road sports under their banner ever since. The only issue I ever had with my Outback was when some connection between the catalytic converter broke and had to be replaced. I was just barely out of the warranty that covered that part, and it was going to cost $1600 just for the part. The service manager, Charley, saw my 5-bike rack on the back, SUP racks on the roof, and a car loaded with work and play gear asked me about what I do. I gave him an enthusiastic summary of my adventures and unbeknownst to me, he called Subaru Corporate, and told you about me and my adventures and pleaded my case. Subaru GAVE me the part. All I paid was for the labor to install it. I was back on the road to more adventures. I encouraged my parents to buy a Subaru. My friends, my teammates. My teammates encouraged others to buy Subarus. They build the safest vehicle on the planet. It fits all your gear. What gear doesn’t fit, you put on the rack up top or add a rack to the back. You can get to pretty much every off-road trailhead you want to. You can get to your patients even when they live on a rutted dirt road after 10 days of rain. They stand by their products and the local dealer and maintenance department stands by their customers. My fiancé bought his first Subaru, the Ascent in 2020. I traded in my Outback for a zippy little Crosstrek with leather seats. My parents traded in their Outback for the Ascent. My friends traded in theirs for bigger, newer, better Subarus. Our oldest kids bought their first Subaru. New friends bought their first Subarus. This week, my Subaru Crosstrek went through the ultimate test: I was in a collision on a country road. I was probably driving at around 45 mph. The other driver turned left in front of me. There was no time. I remember hearing the panic beep of the obstacle detection. Suddenly there was a crunch and the world turned white when every airbag deployed. Within seconds someone was on the overhead telling me they detected an impact and asking if I had been in an accident. They had EMS on the line. I put my car in park, turned off the engine, opened my door, and ducked under the side airbag to get out of the car. I walked away. I have some bruises. A couple of sore muscles. Not a single broken bone. Not a laceration. No head injury. Because I own a Subaru, I am still a wife, mother, daughter, MimiCole, friend, physical therapist, mountain biker, mountain bike skills instructor, paddle boarder, adventure enthusiast. Our Subarus have carried tens of thousands of dollars of gear. They have been present for more “new bike days” than I can count. They have been our adventure-mobiles. We have fit furniture inside that never should have fit. We’ve hauled lumber, landscape rocks, and pond supplies. We’ve packed the cargo area from edge to edge on many road trips. We’ve trusted our Subarus to get us everywhere we wanted to go, carrying every precious piece of cargo we can load. This week I went back to Ferguson Subaru and put a deposit down on my third Subaru, a 2021 Crosstrek. There was no question what kind of car or what dealership I would purchase from..because I will always trust my Subaru to carry the most post precious cargo of all: my kids, my nieces, my family, my friends, my dogs.

Ferguson Subaru commits to Hope is Alive

Ferguson Subaru, thank you, thank you, thank you, for your continuous commitment to our local Oklahoma communities. Hope is Alive is beyond grateful to be one of many organizations selected in the “Share the Love Campaign.” As an organization that is on the front lines of addiction, we get to see men and women taking steps out of brokenness and hopelessness daily. Through the amazing generosity of Ferguson Subaru as a local community partner, hundreds of people in Tulsa now have the choice to step out of a life of addiction and experience Radical Life Change!

A small nonprofit with a big following!

Our little service dog organization has been in operation for 3.5 years. I made connections with our local Subaru dealership and one particular salesman, Jeremy Bautista, who has become a friend outside of selling us 2 Subarus. He, like us, is a huge dog advocate and always asks us to bring dogs in just to say hello. One day he messaged me and asked if he could do "a little fundraising" for us in the beginning of 2021. We always say yes and love when our friends and community offer to raise funds! At then end of two months he invited us to set up an info table at the dealership and bring dogs for everyone to visit with and learn about our organization. We train service dogs and donate them free to disabled individuals who apply for one through our program. Jeremy then presented us with a $3,000 check!!!!! The biggest donation to date for us. This completely blew our minds and I don't think he really understood how much this helped us after 2020 when our donation year had been quite low. I wanted to cry. Our organization is so incredibly grateful as I'm sure all the organizations he fundraises for have been impacted by his giving. Not long after we had received his donation, one of our dogs in training was bit (very badly) by a rattlesnake! His donation literally saved this dog's life by securing us for unexpected situations or accidents and helping us maintain our normal costs to raise and train these dogs. We are humbled and grateful and plan to have more fun interactions with him and our dealer in the future! I, personally, have bought 3 Subarus from them and have another [larger] vehicle ordered and on the way! From the perspective of a car consumer, the kindness and integrity shown to me by my local Subaru dealer, even before I started this nonprofit, is what keeps me returning. I have bought many a car from other dealerships around the state and not one has ever made me feel as comfortable in the buying process as my local Subaru dealer, and even more Jeremy. All of the connections we have made together has made a positive impact for all parties and that is the kind of world we need to live in together. Thank you for being "Dog Positive" and "People Positive"!

Helping teachers help our community.

Malek Bourmaf from Subaru reached out to me last week wanting to schedule a time to bring school supplies to one of my teachers. He shared with me how he was touched by a family and their story when purchasing a Subaru from him the previous week. A young couple came into the dealership wanting to buy a car. They've been sharing a car for 3 years and were in desperate need of a vehicle with school approaching. The car they were wanting was already sold, but Malek helped them get a vehicle. Malek mentioned just how kind and sweet the couple was during the entire process. He was personally thinking of someone to give back to this month and this teacher was the perfect person to do so. Subaru has an initiative this month call Subaru Loves Learning. Subaru ended up donating $342 of supplies for his classroom. This teacher loves his family and his students and with this donation and his new car he can be even more focused on teaching. Thank you Subaru for your support.

Ferguson Subaru Loves the Birds and Bees!

Ferguson Subaru in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, is all about helping the small nonprofit Friends of Blue Thumb spread the word about taking care of our pollinators in Tulsa County, Oklahoma! A $500 grant enabled Friends of Blue Thumb to support the Tulsa County Conservation District's brand new "Yard by Yard" community resiliency project. "Yard by Yard" recognizes landowners and their properties that have nature friendly practices. By growing some of their own vegetables, composting, and offering feeding and watering stations for birds and other small wildlife, Tulsa residents (plus those from Broken Arrow, where Ferguson is located, and other Tulsa County cities) can do their part to make urban areas less formidable to birds, bees, butterflies, and other small creatures who need a helping hand. There are an array of additional practices to consider as well. One of the most important actions "Yard by Yard" participants are taking is the establishment of native plants on their properties. Where wildflowers and native grasses are allowed to grow, bees and butterflies find a good meal. These bees and butterflies are the same pollinators that help to keep the foods we need growing, as up to 1/3 of all fruits, vegetables, and nuts require insect pollination. Urban areas can be an impediment to pollinators, but people can make important adjustments to help these important tiny animals. "Yard by Yard" is an important resource for learning about urban conservation practices. In addition to being a food source for pollinators, native plants have deep, fibrous root systems that build healthy soil. Rain falling on a yard with areas of native plants will tend to soak into the earth, following these deep root systems. So native plants reduce flooding and even help to filter pollutants out of water. Every newly certified yard sports a cool educational sign that guides those passing by to consider how they might make changes so that their yards too can "make the cut." "Yard by Yard" participants are given two packets of wildflower seed; one packet for their own yard; and a second packet to give to a friend or neighbor so the project will continue to grow. More can be learned about "Yard by Yard" by visiting www.tulsaccd.org/yardbyyard. Participants have access to a form containing a series of urban conservation practices across four categories. This gives homeowners and renters alike the opportunity to choose the practices that most appeal to them. In a nutshell, "Yard by Yard:" feeds bees. butterflies and birds; produces nutritional food; encourages water to soak into the earth; reduces flooding; filters runoff; brings interesting small wildlife into the yard; and ultimately saves time and money when lawn chemicals are eliminated and short-mowed turf grass areas are reduced. "Yard by Yard" is now spreading across Oklahoma, and the $500 grant provided Ferguson Subaru helped to make this happen. Subaru Loves Pest

The Tulsa SPCA has worked with Ferguson Subaru for the past several years to execute the Subaru Loves Pets adoption event. Ferguson Subaru has always been very helpful to help us make this event the most successful. Without their support, the event would not be as successful and not as many pets would get adopted! We appreciate their commitment to the community and partnership with us each year!

Ferguson Subaru helps homeless youth stay warm

Thanks to the generosity of Ferguson Subaru in Tulsa, Oklahoma, dozens of young people experiencing homelessness will receive new blankets to help them through the coming winter months. Ferguson Subaru delivered several cases of new blankets to Youth Services of Tulsa on November 13. Youth Services of Tulsa (YST) will distribute those blankets to the teens and young adults who turn to its innovative Street Outreach program for assistance with basic needs and resources to help them exit homelessness. Eric Jellison of Ferguson Subaru coordinated the blanket donation. Brian Young of YST thanked Ferguson Subaru for the generous gift, saying "Imagine living outdoors during an Oklahoma winter without warm clothing and a blanket to block the wind. Ferguson Subaru's donation will help many young people stay warm during the cold nights ahead." More about YST: Youth Services of Tulsa (YST) is a nonprofit organization assisting young people ages 12-24 throughout Tulsa County. YST offers a continuum of care through 15 programs focused on four key areas: Runaway and Homeless Services, Counseling, Delinquency Prevention, and Youth Development. Saving Lives with Subaru

Working for a non-profit animal rescue organization, Animal Rescue Foundation of Tulsa was so excited to be hosted for an event at Ferguson Subaru. The staff was excellent, caring, and went above and beyond to get the word out about homeless and unwanted pets coming to the event, needing forever homes! During the event we had a bonded pair, Chia and Almonds, adopted! We also received several applications on animals seen at the event and due to them hosting us, it looks like together we will be continuing to save lives and place then with loving families thanks to the exposure of the event! Thank you so much Subaru!

We Love All Things Subaru!

Our Subaru story began last year when we knew our family was in need of a new vehicle. We had narrowed our decision down to a Subaru because of their impeccable safety and maintenance record! Everyone we knew that had a Subaru loved their vehicles! A friend of ours had bought an Impreza at Ferguson and had nothing but good things to say about Ferguson and his experience. We decided to visit Ferguson and meet with Michael Altman, who had sold our friend his car. From that first visit at Ferguson, our family was welcomed with kindness and respect. We were looking to buy either an Ascent or Forester. While we were trying to decide on which vehicle, there was never any pressure from Michael, which was great! He answered all our questions, showing us the different features of the two vehicles. After several test drives, we decided to purchase a 2019 Forester. The whole buying process went smooth and easy! Art, in the finance department, was so friendly in explaining the purchase process and warranty information. Again, we were treated with kindness and respect. The service department at Ferguson continues to treat us with the same kindness and respect that began day one of our Subaru story. The service department is very knowledgeable and efficient in getting our vehicle serviced and on our way. Ferguson cares for their customers and it shows in every aspect of the dealership! After we purchased our Forester, we began to learn more about Subaru and the different platforms they support: learning, Earth, pets, helping others in the community, and caring for those with illness. That support goes down to the dealership level and as a Subaru owner it’s great to know that our purchase helped fund these different platforms in our area. It’s been almost a year since we bought our Forester and we can say she is well loved! We named her Phoebe. She has been on many road trips to 12 states and traveled almost 24,000 miles. Phoebe has her own Instagram account @phoebetheforester which shows her many adventures and our love for all things Subaru! Jeremy and Stephanie Steely Owasso, OK

We love the brand, dealership, and support they give back here in Oklahoma! Thank you to our Ferguson Subaru Family for 10 amazing years!!

The Subaru Outback donated to Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa by Ferguson Subaru was used to deliver 80 shelf stable emergency meal kits called "Blizzard Bags" to be used by recipients in case of inclement weather. The kits were made using supplies that were transported from the Meals on Wheels office to a local church using the vehicle. The church hosting the packing event included 30 volunteers who made the emergency meal kits that were later distributed to MOW recipients.

OU Graduates with her Guide Dog thanks to Ferguson

Of the 7500 students graduating this May 2017 in Norman Oklahoma, only one will be dressed in a custom gown. Laurel Wheeler earned her degree from Oklahoma University in Russian and will be on stage to receive her degree along with her Guide Dog Stockard. She has had Stockard for 7 years and will be retiring her as soon as Guide Dogs for the Blind has the perfect match for her, which is expected this year. Jostens Company which makes the graduation gowns will be making a special custom gown for Stockard to wear. "There is no way I could get around like I do without her", said Wheeler. "Blindness can be isolating it you let it be, and she has helped form friendships. Instead of people looking at me as blind first, and then as a person, she has helped me change the perception of me to a girl with a dog who happens to be blind". Guide Dogs for the Blind cannot raise puppies and provide service animals free of charge to proud Oklahoman's without the financial support of folks like Ferguson Subaru.

Championship Car & All Star Dealership

We have owned our 2015 Outback for a year and a half. Wow, what a machine! It is without a doubt the finest vehicle we have ever owned, and we've owned a few in our 46 years of marriage. We can't figure out why everyone doesn't own a Subaru. This car is a dream to drive. Being retired, we takes lots of road trips. The Outback is absolutely wonderful on the open road. But the vehicle is only part of our story. The rest of the story is about Ferguson Subaru in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. These folks are off the chart. They are so friendly, courteous and accommodating. They do what they say they are going to do within the time frame they say they are going to accomplish it. They have an answer for all questions regarding our vehicle. Everyone involved, from the phone operators to the technicians, are so pleasant to deal with. We have never encountered a new car dealership that treats us with tender, loving care like the Ferguson team. Subaru's "Love Promise" has become a reality for us. We are most appreciative and we share our sentiments with our friends and acquaintances. Peering into the crystal ball, we can't see ourselves ever owning any vehicle other than a Subaru! Lone Star Guide Dog Raisers

Ferguson Subaru was proud to highlight Lone Star Guide Dog Raisers/Guide Dogs for the Blind as their hometown charity in the most recent Share the Love event with Subaru. Ferguson Subaru's¿¿ owner, Jerry Ferguson, presented a check in the amount of $6,145 to Sandi Alsworth, Community Field Rep. for Guide Dogs for the Blind, as four puppies in training looked on. Ms. Alsworth said that money went to help fund the plane rides needed to bring the puppies to be trained in volunteer homes, and when they reach 15 months old to return them to Guide Dogs¿¿ California campus for formal training. Since Guide Dogs are provided at no charge to the visually impaired, donations from grassroots efforts, such as Ferguson's Share the Love event are vital. Ferguson Subaru is proud to partner with Lone Star Guide Dog Raisers to bring greater awareness to our community and associates regarding this vital resource to the visually impaired in Oklahoma.

Subaru Loves Learning | School Supply Drive

Dear Ferguson Subaru, I would like to express appreciation on behalf of my staff for the delightful trunk of gifts that were delivered to Kendall-Whittier ES by Fergie the Bear and your gracious staff. The wide variety of school/teacher supplies given by Ferguson Subaru and their customer donors helped defer teacher out-of-pocket cost for classroom essentials. As a Title I school, we don't require that students bring school supplies at the beginning of the year to respect the limited financial situations of many of our families. As a result, we depend on the generosity of our partners in education and the generosity of Tulsa businesses. We are so grateful and blessed to have been the recipient of this year's Ferguson Subaru school supply drive. Please accept our Thank You from my staff and students! Sincerely, Ronda Kesler, Principal Kendall-Whittier E.S.

Guide Dogs for the Blind

Guide Dogs for the Blind appreciates Ferguson Subaru in Tulsa for supporting our puppies in training. Guide Dogs currently has 42 active seeing eye dogs in Oklahoma, and each was presented to their person at no charge. Ferguson Subaru choosing Guide Dogs for the Blind as their 2014 Local Share the Love charity means that up to 56 more puppies can be flown to local raisers to start their 2 years of training. Thanks to Jerry Ferguson and their advocate/GSM Hugh Bickel to making more working dogs available with this gesture. This gift they are giving the local community can't be bought, as it takes time and a large volunteer effort to shape these dogs from 2 months of age until they go back for formal training. This gift has a tremendous benefit and on behalf of the visually impaired in Oklahoma, we thank you very much.

The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma

Working with Ferguson Subaru over the last 4-5 years has been an amazing experience. Partnering with a business that promotes animal welfare, spaying and neutering, and responsible pet ownership is a blessing in an area where pet overpopulation is so prevalent. Ferguson Subaru is a well known established business so having their support in our efforts goes a log way in our community. Their sponsorships at our events speaks volumes and the entire Ferguson Subaru family goes above and beyond to help promote, not only The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma's efforts, but other rescue organizations as well. The Subaru brand is so well known as the "Dog Tested, Dog Approved" vehicle so being a part of that as an animal rescue organization has been truly an honor. Ferguson Subaru is doing great work in promoting the brand and helping the community become a better place!

Furgeuson Subaru Supports Tulsa Linnaeus Teaching Garden

At the time I was introduced to Fergie Bear and his sidekick "Cody" I was in charge of Grandparents Day at the Linnaeus Teaching Garden. September 8, 2013 was to be our second Grandparents Day and the objective of the event was to honor Grandparents by inviting them with their kids and grandkids to visit the garden and experience what is was like to be a gardener in the Grandparent's time. Clint approached us and offered his services as Fergie Bear. To be honest we were unfamiliar with Fergie Bear but after researching his background we thought that the younger grandkids would enjoy his presence a and they did, he was a hit. The only issue we had that day was with mother nature, at noon the temperature reached 100 degrees. We had to send Clint home, we were scared to death he was going to have a heat stroke. He wanted to stay but with that temperature and a fully encased bear suit it was "unbearable". In 2014 we pushed the date back a week in order to improve the odds for a lower temperature day, it worked. We also wanted the "bear" to return but we wanted him for the full five hours we were open. Again, he was a hit and it is a tribute to both him and Ferguson Motor to sponsor this great civic activity. The Fergie Bear has a standing invitation for all future Grandparents Day celebrations at the Garden.

Ferguson Superstore & Fergie Bear Assist at the Local Fall Festival

Two years ago, I reached out to Ferguson Superstore to inquire if Fergie Bear would volunteer at our Fall Festival. I didn't really think it would happen, with us being a small church, especially when I saw some of the awesome places they go to spread hugs and love. But I've always believed you won't get what you want if you don't ask. So, I asked. To my delight, they agreed. And they came back the second year too! Fergie Bear brings such joy to the children. One fond memory I have from his visit last year, was that of a four year old girl who had heard Fergie Bear was coming. Her mother said he was the only reason she wanted to come to the festival. They arrived late, and she almost missed him, but that moment she saw him, well it just melted my heart. No words were needed. It was pure JOY! Fergie Bear made her day. It has been a pleasure working with Ferguson Superstore and Fergie Bear. They deliver what they promise, and more
